The application improperly neutralizes HTML tags related to scripts (CWE-80) in input data passed to search fields. An attacker can construct a malicious URL containing a JavaScript payload that will be reflected in the server response without proper filtering. Once a user with appropriate privileges clicks on the crafted link, the malicious script is executed in the context of their browser session.
An attacker can hijack the session of a logged-in user, steal confidential data, or perform actions on their behalf. In a tool like SUSE Manager, this can lead to compromise of the managed infrastructure. High impact on integrity and confidentiality of dependent systems (SC:H/SI:H) indicates possible serious consequences for managed environments.
