CWE-1288
Improper Validation of Consistency within Input
The product receives a complex input with multiple elements or fields that must be consistent with each other, but it does not validate or incorrectly validates that the input is actually consistent.
Biblioteka xmldom (JavaScript) akceptuje nieprawidłowo zbudowany dokument XML zawierający wiele węzłów głównych (root nodes), dodając je wszystkie do kolekcji childNodes obiektu Document bez zgłaszania błędu. Jest to poważna podatność, ponieważ łamie fundamentalne założenie modelu DOM o istnieniu dokładnie jednego węzła głównego, co może prowadzić do podatności w aplikacjach zależnych.
The OpenRGB network protocol allows attackers to cause memory exhaustion and out-of-bounds memory reads and writes by passing inconsistent data.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: validate the whole DACL before rewriting it in cifsacl build_sec_desc() and id_mode_to_cifs_acl() derive a DACL pointer from a server-supplied dacloffset and then use the incoming ACL to rebuild the chmod/chown security descriptor. The original fix only checked that the struct smb_acl header fits before reading dacl_ptr->size or dacl_ptr->num_aces. That avoids the immediate header-field OOB read, but the rewrite helpers still walk ACEs based on pdacl->num_aces with no structural validation of the incoming DACL body. A malicious server can return a truncated DACL that still contains a header, claims one or more ACEs, and then drive replace_sids_and_copy_aces() or set_chmod_dacl() past the validated extent while they compare or copy attacker-controlled ACEs. Factor the DACL structural checks into validate_dacl(), extend them to validate each ACE against the DACL bounds, and use the shared validator before the chmod/chown rebuild paths. parse_dacl() reuses the same validator so the read-side parser and write-side rewrite paths agree on what constitutes a well-formed incoming DACL.
An Improper Validation of Consistency within Input vulnerability in the routing protocol daemon (rpd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows an unauthenticated network-based attacker sending a specifically malformed BGP packet to cause rpd to crash and restart, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS). Continued receipt and processing of this packet will create a sustained Denial of Service (DoS) condition. In some cases, rpd fails to restart requiring a manual restart via the 'restart routing' CLI command. This issue only affects systems with BGP traceoptions enabled and requires a BGP session to be already established. Systems without BGP traceoptions enabled are not affected by this issue. This issue affects iBGP and eBGP, and both IPv4 and IPv6 are affected by this vulnerability. This issue affects: Junos OS: * All versions before 21.4R3-S8, * 22.2 before 22.2R3-S5, * 22.3 before 22.3R3-S4, * 22.4 before 22.4R3-S3, * 23.2 before 23.2R2-S2, * 23.4 before 23.4R2; Junos OS Evolved: * All versions before 21.4R3-S8-EVO, * 22.2-EVO before 22.2R3-S5-EVO, * 22.3-EVO before 22.3R3-S4-EVO, * 22.4-EVO before 22.4R3-S3-EVO, * 23.2-EVO before 23.2R2-S2-EVO, * 23.4-EVO before 23.4R2-EVO.
A command injection vulnerability exists in local RACADM. A malicious authenticated user could gain control of the underlying operating system.
An issue was discovered in OpenStack Keystone before 29.0.2. POST /v3/credentials did not validate that the caller-supplied project_id for an EC2-type credential matched the project of the authenticating application credential. This allowed an attacker holding an unrestricted application credential for project A to create an EC2 credential targeting project B; a subsequent /v3/ec2tokens exchange would then issue a Keystone token scoped to project B while still carrying the original app_cred_id, enabling cross-project lateral movement within the credential owner's role footprint.
Podatność w Windows Secure Kernel Mode umożliwia lokalnemu, uwierzytelnionemu atakującemu podniesienie uprawnień. Wynika z nieprawidłowej walidacji spójności danych wejściowych w chronionym trybie jądra systemu Windows.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/mana: Remove user triggerable WARN_ON() in mana_ib_create_qp_rss() Sashiko points out that the user can specify WQs sharing the same CQ as a part of the uAPI and this will trigger the WARN_ON() then go on to corrupt the kernel. Just reject it outright and fail the QP creation.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Do not skip unrelated mode changes in DSC validation Starting with commit 17ce8a6907f7 ("drm/amd/display: Add dsc pre-validation in atomic check"), amdgpu resets the CRTC state mode_changed flag to false when recomputing the DSC configuration results in no timing change for a particular stream. However, this is incorrect in scenarios where a change in MST/DSC configuration happens in the same KMS commit as another (unrelated) mode change. For example, the integrated panel of a laptop may be configured differently (e.g., HDR enabled/disabled) depending on whether external screens are attached. In this case, plugging in external DP-MST screens may result in the mode_changed flag being dropped incorrectly for the integrated panel if its DSC configuration did not change during precomputation in pre_validate_dsc(). At this point, however, dm_update_crtc_state() has already created new streams for CRTCs with DSC-independent mode changes. In turn, amdgpu_dm_commit_streams() will never release the old stream, resulting in a memory leak. amdgpu_dm_atomic_commit_tail() will never acquire a reference to the new stream either, which manifests as a use-after-free when the stream gets disabled later on: BUG: KASAN: use-after-free in dc_stream_release+0x25/0x90 [amdgpu] Write of size 4 at addr ffff88813d836524 by task kworker/9:9/29977 Workqueue: events drm_mode_rmfb_work_fn Call Trace: <TASK> dump_stack_lvl+0x6e/0xa0 print_address_description.constprop.0+0x88/0x320 ? dc_stream_release+0x25/0x90 [amdgpu] print_report+0xfc/0x1ff ? srso_alias_return_thunk+0x5/0xfbef5 ? __virt_addr_valid+0x225/0x4e0 ? dc_stream_release+0x25/0x90 [amdgpu] kasan_report+0xe1/0x180 ? dc_stream_release+0x25/0x90 [amdgpu] kasan_check_range+0x125/0x200 dc_stream_release+0x25/0x90 [amdgpu] dc_state_destruct+0x14d/0x5c0 [amdgpu] dc_state_release.part.0+0x4e/0x130 [amdgpu] dm_atomic_destroy_state+0x3f/0x70 [amdgpu] drm_atomic_state_default_clear+0x8ee/0xf30 ? drm_mode_object_put.part.0+0xb1/0x130 __drm_atomic_state_free+0x15c/0x2d0 atomic_remove_fb+0x67e/0x980 Since there is no reliable way of figuring out whether a CRTC has unrelated mode changes pending at the time of DSC validation, remember the value of the mode_changed flag from before the point where a CRTC was marked as potentially affected by a change in DSC configuration. Reset the mode_changed flag to this earlier value instead in pre_validate_dsc(). (cherry picked from commit cc7c7121ae082b7b82891baa7280f1ff2608f22b)
A local attacker could cause a full device reset by resetting the device passwords using an invalid reset file via USB.
Some payload elements of the messages sent between two stations in a networking architecture are not properly checked on the receiving station allowing an attacker to execute unauthorized commands in the application.
The Candid library causes a Denial of Service while parsing a specially crafted payload with 'empty' data type. For example, if the payload is `record { * ; empty }` and the canister interface expects `record { * }` then the Rust candid decoder treats empty as an extra field required by the type. The problem with the type empty is that the candid Rust library wrongly categorizes empty as a recoverable error when skipping the field and thus causing an infinite decoding loop. Canisters using affected versions of candid are exposed to denial of service by causing the decoding to run indefinitely until the canister traps due to reaching maximum instruction limit per execution round. Repeated exposure to the payload will result in degraded performance of the canister. Note: Canisters written in Motoko are unaffected.
NLnet Labs Routinator prior to 0.10.0 produces invalid RTR payload if an RPKI CA uses too large values in the max-length parameter in a ROA. This will lead to RTR clients such as routers to reject the RPKI data set, effectively disabling Route Origin Validation.
In JetBrains TeamCity before 2024.03 2FA could be bypassed by providing a special URL parameter
Improper Input Validation in the Networking Stack of QNX SDP version(s) 6.6, 7.0, and 7.1 could allow an attacker to potentially cause Information Disclosure or a Denial-of-Service condition.
An issue has been discovered in GitLab CE/EE affecting all versions from 11.1 before 17.10.7, 17.11 before 17.11.3, and 18.0 before 18.0.1. Improper XPath validation allows modified SAML response to bypass 2FA requirement under specialized conditions.
